Tycoon Machete After several months of long recording sessions, two hour gigs, and moving furniture, my arm began to give out. Tendonitis had severely limited my playing during the winter of 2003. The need to create and make music was still there so I tried a new approach. Together with my producer, James Perry, we started experimenting with sequencing and looping tracks. James who would later become the drummer for the band Tragic Black laid down the beats and I would throw some guitar and vocals in top. The result was Tycoon Machete's Plug and Play Messiah. Though to date I have not sold a single copy of this CD, these recordings are still some of my personal favorites. The record was a mix of new songs and older material that never felt at home among the down and out roots music I was doing at the time..... Tycoon Machete is: James Perry - beats, drums, keys, voices....
John Whipple - guitars, dobro, bass, keys, piano, voices.... others... Sean McCarthy- keyboards, guitar, Rhodes Will Sartain - drums Joel Zeigler - funky bass guitar Jimmy Page - bass Gigi Love - backing vocals special thanks to Dave Payne for use of the guitar rig, Will Sartain for leaving his drums around, and Jeana for putting up with this madness for so long........
